On my 68,the schraeder valve for the air shocks was located on the bumper behind the license plate.

I have put them in the bumper as mentioned(the stock location)and, I've put them behind the fuel door. I take out one of the rubber bumpers, drill the hole a tad, and fit the valve there. You may not be able to use a valve cap, it may not let the door close. A little easier to reach than in the back bumper.

I've got 2 separate air lines for the lift bags in my rear springs. Each schrader valve serves double duty as the upper license plate bolt.
Quite the neat hiding spot if I say so myself

Isolating the shocks with two valves really helps the suspension. I use the license plate mounts.
