Has anyone ever seen an El Camino with a rear window that would roll down like in a wagon? Seems like it could be done, especially the smuggler's box is down there for more room.
I have had my rear window out since painting, and it is nice to get the airflow, but the security sucks...

Funny you say that because im planning on doing it to my elky. I will post pics as i progress on it. I have all the power parts from a wagon tailgate window. I am also working on a power operated tonneau cover which will ride on tracks mounted on the bed rails.

Didn,t the 68 to 70 Corvette have a removable rear window ? That might be another way to go.

The Corvette coupes actually had removable rear windows from '68-'72. The idea of a roll up/down el camino rear window certainly sounds intrigueing but a simpler solution for your air flow desire might be a new window with the 2 sideward sliding glass "doors" in the center like I have in my ratty 'ol '76 Silverado work truck. I know I've seen 'em for el caminos. I've been thinking of getting one for mine.

My guess is you can probably order one from the local Pep Boys/Auto Zone/Checker. Just over a hundred bucks shipped and they have tint available...rather important out here in the middle of the mojave desert.
