I have had good luck finding NOS and good used El Camino parts on the E-Bay collectible parts site. If you are patient, darn near anything will eventually come through it. Of course, some folks go nuts in the bids, but I just bid what I am willing to pay, and I have had some pleasant surprises. It is true what they say about "nothing works as good as original GM parts".
I have seen several posts on the restoration section about problems finding a decent jack and cradle, and I was able to get a very nice, complete and already restored jack mechanism, correct stamped cradle, base and jack handle for $50. plus shipping. When it arrived, it looked brand new.
There are a couple of power sellers that seem to specialize in the Elky parts. I would recommend a guy in S. Cal, who goes by "Silver67GTO". His parts are accurately described, he stays on top of his e-mails, and he ships promptly, and well-packaged. I have probably purchased a dozen NOS and good used parts from him, and never been disappointed in my purchases.
Another good source of used parts is a guy in Yukon, OK that has an e-mail of elcaminoman2004@aol.com. He is an older gentleman that has someone who helps with his E-Bay listings and e-mail inquiries. He has about 20-25 parts cars from '59 to mid-80's, but most of his cars are "73-78 body style. Good prices, and he won't sell you junk.
Feel freee to pass along any sources you have found to be reputable dealers. Kind of like the good independent mechanics list on the "Car Talk' website. I think that would be a good reference file on this site.
