Do most of you guys have a boot over your convertible top? I don't....and just was looking for opinions on whether it's worth the cost. Are they the same cover as the interior of the car?

Absolutely worth the expense, in my opinion. I think the clean look of a top covered with the boot is well worth it. And yes, they are supposed to match the interior color, not the top color. Ed.

not to contradict ed, but i dont like them. i use my rag top every day and it is a pain to take off and put on every time. if i'm going to a show maybe, or if i didnt use as often sure, but as a regular on/off thing, no way.

I agree with Ed and Pete. They look REALLY good but are a pain to put on.

Hi Joeks, with a car as nice looking as yours... I would get a boot for the car if it was me making the decisions! No, you would not have to use it every time you drove the car BUT you would not be STYLIN with the complete package without one(JMO)
My car colors are the same as yours with my top being white with a tan underside unlike yours being tan.My boot goes on nearly every time mainly to keep things as clean as possible and to help keep stuff away from the plastic window that still looks almost new after three years.
A boot will give your car a cleaner look when on the car  Sorry I do not have picture of my car with the boot on online to give you an idea what your car would look like.
I was lucky enough to get the original boot with my car and it is the lighter saddle color. My car also has the simular two tone interior colors as
yours(light saddle and dark saddle) I think your car would look great with a boot(could take a poll of TCers for fun) in either color although the dark saddle may fad a bit over time.
My boot has the original style velcro across the top of the back seat...not the sliding channel type that I have seen many times.I do not find it a pain to deal with...A few minutes on and a few minutes off.
Folks with black tops do not not have to worry about dirt or spots they can not see smile.gif DANO

I have a boot but don't put it on the car too often. Just for parades or car shows. Its time consuming and I put the top back up when I put it to bed anyway.

imo the boot looks great and protects the top from the elements, plus it only takes less than 3 minutes to put on your 69 since it slips under the pinch weld molding.

I just bought a boot cover for my 64, Still have not installed the clips yet...
My 66, the rag the clips wer plastic and snaped on and off vary easy,, the 64/65 clips ( repo ) are plastic coated steel...
i think a Boot gives a car with the top down a cleaner look... but just for a nite out ...NO viewing /cruz or show.. IMO go Bootless

Good question. When driving at speeds above ~35 MPH, the top catches the wind and starts to come up a bit on my convertible. Anyone else have this problem for those of you bootless?
