Hey fellow sun-gazers.

I bought a 68 SS ragtop that I've done a frame-off and I'm getting to the point of putting the top back on temporarily, to align the windows and put more of the interior in. The top will come back out for some addn'l work and probably new fabric.

I've got the factory Service Manual and the Body Service manual - neither mention the well-liner installation. I'm just not sure how it goes in and where it connects to. The Chevelle restoration guide didn't mention it either...

If anyone can give me some assistance here, I'd appreciate it very much.

Thanks,
SS-Dale

If its like a '69, and I believe it is, it attaches to the lower bow that wraps around UNDERNEATH the rear and attaches with a shoulder bolt on each side to the hinge. The bow will have a cork or (vinyl if new) insert to staple the liner to. This is the same bow that the rear lower portion of the top attaches to and it kind of 'floats' till the top is up then it presses against the body to seal off the rear. The front of the well liner lays over the steel divider and is held with a metal strip that screws down on top of the vinyl. At least that's what mine looks like.

Thanks Dave.

I'll take a closer look when I get into the garage.
