Is it the nylon screw on the side of the pump that I need to remove to do this? 65 Chevelle btw.

Hello,

Nice car.

I do not know about nylon screw. My convertable top motors have steel hex-headed screws as the plugs.

The plug is located on the end of the reservoir tank. Not on the sides where the hoses connect.

Hope that helps a little, Joe

Thanks Joe, you are right about the location.
I meant to state that the plugs(s) are on the end of the pump. Theres a HEX head plug center on the end and a NYLON SCREW directly above it. I'm still not sure which one to use to bleed my system. Does the pump itself hold a reserve of fluid? Thanks again.

Yes, they hold a reserve. One half of the setup is a pump and the other half is a fluid reservoir. The pump half has the wires and hoses attached and the other end has a plug at the top. I'll have to look at mine but I thought the fill plug was on top not on the end.

Pretty sure that the center 'hex' holds the resevoir on. The higher "plug" will be the fill/bleed port. On a later model FULL is when the air is out and the top is in the down position, then refit the plug. Not sure on the early models.
