I need help! I have a 64 malibu that I'm trying to
reinstall the hydraulic system for the conv.top
I have motor, hoses and cylinder lifts that i bought new from ground up resto. However I do not
have, nor do I know what it looks like, the
hardware to mount the lifts to the top frame. Can
anyone tell me where I can get it or at least find
out what it looks like, then maybe I can fabricate
my own.

the hardware to mount the lifts to the top frame. Can anyone tell me where I can get it or at least find out what it looks likeI am not positive of 1964, but my 66 just had on special bolt with a nylon bushon that fit into the top linkage...
There are 4 special bolts (and bushings?) also needed to mount the lift cylinders to the car body (but NOT to the top frame), two at the top of each cylinder case... These are short bolts that thread into the body, yet have a "dowel-like" unthreaded portion that protrudes into the cylinder, allowing the cylinder to freely pivot about those bolts... The nylon bushings are placed into the cylinder prior... I have seen similar pieces at Lowes, but not sure if the have the correct size...
Try a place called Hydro-Electric out of Florida (Punto Gordo or some place). I believe they had the correct bolts and bushings, they might also have diagrams of the assembly...
Not sure if I have any pictures of these pieces...
BTW, you do realize that the TOP FRAME is different between power-top and manual top cars, right? You can't just bolt-on power lift cylinders to a non-power top. I have been told the top will bind and bend the linkage if this is done... I know I change to a power top and It definitely was different from the old manual frame...
