Hi all,

I am in the process of restoring a '68 Chevelle conv. for my everyday ride. So, I am not keeping it original. I just want a modernized car.

What's the best convertible top material with glass rear window? Where is the best place to buy it?

Thanks,
Theo.

My vote is for Stayfast fabric like you see on BMW or MB.....as long as you are not going white.

Mines been on seven or eight years now and still looks as good as the day it was put on.

Got mine from OPG, (glass window) nice top and my installer did a great job. Been on a year and a half now, no stains, cleans up nice. It was a little over $200.

I think I will get the Stayfast fabric one. I prefer the look of the cloth top. Does anyone have a good source for it?

Thanks guys,
Theo.

I love the stayfast material and with black stripes and houndstooth interior I could do a black top but not sure of the personality change it would have on the car...

I have a tan fabric top on both sides on my 64, fabric is OEM 2003 Jaguar. My installer is out of business. There is a supplier most of the shop buy from in Long Beach. I think they do installation work. There name excapes me right now, I'm suffering from CRAFT. It seem like they are located on Anaheim street.

I see we are both from Huntington Beach I will look for the name and get back to you.

I have an easy color for my top, black... Does anyone have any leads for parts and installation?

I am also looking for a reputable upholstery shop. I plan to redo my whole interior. I do not want a show car but a very nice everyday car.

I am in Huntington Beach, CA.

Thanks,
Theo.

My top guy is out of business. The top came from a supplier in Long Beach. It's OEM Jaguar material tan in color. I think any upholstery shop could tell you. I see there is a shop called Convertible World in Long Beach on Cherry.

The supplier I'm thinking of is managed by a women here husband bought here a 64 or 65 convertible but has not started to restore it yet.

I don't have a cost I paid a flat price for everything.

Send me an E-mail and I'll give you my phone number. Stop by anytime if you want to see my top.
