I have recently finished a ground up resto. on the chevelle.I'm finally ready to have the canvas put on the car.I went through Ground UP and purchased their well molding clips(part#lmc-3640)no instruction came with these clips. How do the clips sit in the moldings, what side of clip faces the frame of the car?Any info would help I have three books (body by fisher,gm,chiltons)none of which help.Pics would be very helpful or is there a specialty book on the parts on a convertible?
Thank You for
the help- Andrew

I believe they are the same as the Camaro clips, they have a large end and a small end. When you put the clips on the cover the small end faces out toward the trunk and sides of the car and the large end faces into the interior. Most get them installed on the cover correctly but then I see a lot of folks doing the actual clipping to the pinchwell molding backwards. The small end hooks on first and then with your palm, you push on the clip until the large end clicks into place. Too many times I see folks hook the large end first and then try to get the smaller more ridged end to snap over the edge of the molding... It can be done but you risk more clip breakage.
Hope that was what you are looking for. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
Welp I can tell you that those clips are freakin a pain in the butt to put on. The part of the clip with the tabs are to face out towards you as you place them on the car. Just be careful that you dont chip the paint or break a clip. Personally I'm just glad that Ken bought a convertible... although I think he just got tired of mom badgering him about finding a source for the clips graemlins/hurray.gif
