Not good. At least he has copies, but they're not quite the same. :(

At least the car has been well publicized prior to this incident. The Estes Z28 convertible is the only early Z28 convertible to come from GM and is super-well equipped.
There were convertible conversions done on some 1980/81 Z28s. I remember seeing them new at Chevy dealers at the time. The factory finally made production Z28 convertibles starting in 1987 (I think).

I think that 1987 is correct. My uncle has an 86' Iroc convertible that he bought new, but the conversion was done at an outside shop. It came from the dealer and had a factory warranty, but now almost 20 years later the thing is a rattle trap and the doors fit like crap.

Looks like a lot of people in that topic doubt its authenticity. I would think that this car being a high-profile collector car for the past umpteen years, would have had several "pros" verify it. I'm sure the paperwork has been seen by others.

I have no reason to doubt its history.
