ACES-70 Aug 22nd, 04, 7:41 AM Where do these guys come from ? smile.gif and this ones a very rare color also,, Dust Blue,, musta been a New Mexico only optional color,, notice also that its spelled wrong twice,,, and the guy has to be lookin at his own pictures of the car with the big decal YENKO on the 1/4 panel... ,,, no door panel emblems and that special steering wheel,, a very rare car indeed :D http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=2487670973&category=6164
mr 4 speed Aug 22nd, 04, 8:07 AM Looks like a steering wheel from mid 70's Impala
 :D
L89Chevelle Aug 22nd, 04, 8:57 AM That steering wheel goes well with the air dash  Seems a bit strange someone would take a Copo and make a "Yanko" :D clone . Looks like a nice car,but the attention to detail seems to be lagging a bit, imho.
When I was reading the ad, my BS alarm went off when I saw it had factory air and is supposedly a #'s matching COPO car. Right. Maybe that's why it's a "Yanko" clone instead of a Yenko. He's yanking everyone's chain, or trying to.
ecss454 Aug 24th, 04, 6:12 AM It has to be for real. It comes with a Protect-o-Plate to document all the ADDITIONS!
Bain Aug 29th, 04, 7:45 PM Correct me if I am wrong, at the end of the description they say this car has been put back to the way it originally left Yenko Chevrolet, weren't Yenkos actually made in Baltimore??? The VIN says it was made in Kansas City, Hmm, I know lets email Greg at D.P.E. and ask him if he has this car on his VIN list?
Square Deal Al :D
Bain Aug 29th, 04, 7:50 PM YOu know the other thing is this car has only 610 miles since the "FRAME OFF RESTO" done by the best in the southwest??? it's ok looking maybe it was the done by the best in Lower border town, but they had one of the worst camera guys do the photography?? It doesn't look that great.
15000 was the best it could, am I wrong about the way itlooks compared to the claim of being a frame off by the best in the southwest?
jfkheat Aug 29th, 04, 8:52 PM The seller has relisted the car as a Yenko clone.

DaleM Aug 31st, 04, 9:00 AM But he still says it started life as a L72 427/425 and still claims the COPO 9562 option with factory air (and where is it now? I don't see the compressor under the hood). I don't think the window sticker would bother listing the carb type that he still can't spell (Holley) - aside from , Yanko, Yenco and Yenko, duel exhaust and the ever famous 4 core radiator
Why anyone would take a blue car with white (bench seat) interior and white vinyl top and paint it red and add black buckets and a black vinyl top when they're doing a frame-off restoration to factory specs and put back to "...the way it would have been when it left the Yenko dealership in 1969" is beyond me. graemlins/clonk.gif
With 610 miles on the car since restoration that floor mat surely has more miles on it than that. Maybe it's original and unrestored. tongue.gif I particularly like the TR 787 chalk mark on the firewall. Is that a trim code marking for red bench seats?
He must read the same auto books as some of the dolts I run into at local cruises.
Bob Johnson Aug 31st, 04, 1:06 PM It could have started out in life as a "COPO" Taxi or police car.
