We have seen several cars in shows with the paint removed from the Cowl Tag and think it looks real sharp. Anyone have a good system to do this without messing up the surrounding area? What kind of paint remover would we use that won't harm the tag?
I was thinking of masking it off and applying remover with Q-Tips but I am worried about damaging the tag.

Paint remover won't damage the trim tag. I put duct tape around the tag, and use a small brush or a Q-tip is fine too. Stick the tape to your clothes first, so it's not as sticky. You can even slide the tape under the tag some. After the paint is soft rub it with a scotch brite pad or fine steel wool and it will look nice..
