Good Afternoon
I have recently purchased a 1968 Chevelle Super Sport. It has a
bench seat in the front and a three speed on the floor from the
factory. I heard that there where only five hundred Chevelle
Super Sports built with these options. Is there a way I can
document this statistic?
Can you help with this request?
Thank you
John

Sounds cool! Sorry I can't answer your question though graemlins/clonk.gif
My '69 SS has buckets and a 3-speed Muncie. Usually people think I'm a nut when they ask "automatic or 4-speed?" and I reply "Muncie 3-speed"

Our 68SS came with bench seat and 3 speed on the floor.
I think this was actually the standard and the buckets and 4 speed were availible options.

I'm not sure about '68, but in '69 buckets were standard, and bench was like a "delete" type thing on the SS package.

If the only box you checked on the order form was the SS option, all you got was a peg leg 12 bolt, 325 hp 396 (I am unsure of the tranny) bench seat, column shift, power disc brakes, the SS hood and badges.... thats about all in a nut shell.
My Super Sport was a Bench seat m 21 4 speed 331 non post 375 hp car.

John...In 68, the "special" 3 speed, floor shift only, was standard equipment as well as the bench seat. Bucket seats were optional in all chevelles. Two 3 speed transmissions were available in Chevelles but only the"special" RPO M13 3 speed was available in the SS-396.... Bill Rose
