How can I tell if my front bumper is an NOS bumper for my 70? The reason I ask is i am debating a new one for $160 or re-chroming mune for $225.

What is wrong with it?If its pitted and peeling chances are its original.Repros have only been available for a few years. So if its rusty and pitted, its probably more than a few years old, so it cant be a repro.

It is not rusty or pitted. The chromes is just pealing in a few areas and the rest is hazy looking. I have just heard mixed reviews on these repo bumpers.

N.O.S means New Old Stock. That would be a bumper that has never been installed on a car and was made as a replacement part when your car was new. What you have is Original.
If you have a good core, rechrome is the way to go. Repop as a last resort. JMO

Rechrome for $225? That seems like a pretty good price! Around here I could almost get 3 repops for the price of a rechrome so the choice is clear.

My car won't be a show winner so repops are fine anyway.
