Hey everybody. I have been fighting this neverending problem of finding valve covers to fit my 468. I can't use short style because they hit my Harland Sharp Rollers and I can't use Tall because it hits the booster. So I have no choice but to use a set of the Old Holley Black Finned Valve Covers that are actually mid size. I really want something else because they don't look the best. But the only problem is that they don't have a baffle. How would I go about making one? Right now I am sucking up oil through it and buring it right out with no baffle. I don't like that at all. Any suggestions would be great smile.gif Thanks.

Are you talking about where the PCV valve goes?
I fought that problem too.
I found a chrome,screw-in breather/cap that has the PCV grommmet going right down the center,& it solved the problem. It's baffled internally.
I think its a Mr Gasket.

My harland sharp rockers hit in one spot on drivers side and one spot on passanger side on my short valve covers.I just radiused the corners of the rockers a little on those two spots solved my problem! graemlins/waving.gif
Some guys on here have used double gaskets on stock style valve covers to clear roller rockers. It is weird to me that your tall valve covers hit the brake booster. My 68 has a BB with tall covers (Billet specialties) and they are a little hard to remove but clear the booster when installed. I am currently running CC pro magnum rollers with a stud girdle. I have also ran the tall Chev Power valve covers with no problem.

I think its a Mr Gasket. Does a PCV valve plug into it, or is there some sort of valve built in? Or is it just a baffle that allows you to plug a PCV sized hose into it?
I need to make a baffle or something and hook a PCV into a set of stock-car covers that have 2 breather tubes on one side.....I'd like to use a PCV valve though. Thanks!

It looks like a chrome breather, but its not.
It twists into the valve cover,& there's a grommet right in the center for the PCV valve.
I looked for it on Mr Gaskets site & couldn't find it.Lemme do some diggin' here.

I had the same problem on my 72 BB. Someone here suggested that I get some valve cover spacers from Summit and use the stock chevy valve covers. Worked great.
Moroso makes a baffled pcv grommet. Part number 68775 or 68772 (for tall valve covers).

Holley sells the exact baffle for the M/T Covers- I bought 2 of them through summit a couple months ago for my M/T Covers. They were $10 each i think. Do a search on Holleys website, then punch that number into Summits Part number search and you will find them. They are not listed in the normal catalog listings though..
The MT Covers can look pretty good if you polish them. Here are my Polished M/Ts (http://www.clubhotrod.com/photopost/data/500/489mtcovers-001s-med.jpg)
I'll see if i can find the part number for the baffles tonight when i get home if you want it...

Thanks for all the replies everyone. What exactly do the valve cover spacers do? Would that possibly solve my problem? I really don't know what style overs I have now. They aren't M/T's (At least they don't say it on them). They are black finned and say holley on them and on one of them it even says chevrolet. i just want to get this fixed somehow. If anyone wants to try and help me further I would love to get an e-mail from you guys. My address is dotti66@hotmail.com. Thanks guys.
