Anybody know a manufacturer out there that makes cowl induction hoods for a '65 Chevelle? I know they aren't factory, but since I'll be racing mine open road, I want to set up a good cold air box from the back of the cowl, where the air rolls down, and I don't want the flexing of fiberglass that I've seen with some videos of cars doing 160. My only other alternative is to graft a metal cowl induction setup to the stock hood I have now, but I can't find those in metal either, only fiberglass. And I'd rather keep the stock hood unscathed anyway. Thanks.

I know of one that was made from a 69 Camaro hood. He cut the center of the Camaro hood out and the center of the 65 hood and then grafted them together. Leave the supports intact, just cut the sheetmetal. I didn't see it when done but he did say it was a lot of work. Philip

Thanks. I really would like to save the stock hood, but if I can't find a metal one, I will resort to grafting one on.

Bad 415,
Thanks, me too. Any way that I could get it shipped? http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif I imagine they'd charge more than the price of a fiberglass one. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/frown.gif

CR, If theres any way to find out the cost to ship it (freight more than likely) you're welcome to it if it would be cheaper than a glass one. They're still pretty easy to find, and are usually going for around $75-$100 for a decent one. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif
In the back of Chevy High Performance there is a place selling a 20ga steel cowl scoop for grafting on . I think it was around a $150. Good Luck
