Just wondering what would a 71 LS5 convertible be worth? Its triple black with white stripes, automatic, in excellent condition. Power steering, cowl induction but no AC. All original ,apparently only 2 owners and well documented and original block.

Probably need more detailed information to be more accurate, but I'll guess somewhere in the $30K - $40K range.

Thanks Bill, There was a gold with white stripe car on ebay awhile ago that got up to $49k. Are the 71 and 72 cars in the $50k area now? How much price diff between 70's and 71 cars?

Between the big motors for each year, (LS6 in 70, LS5 in 71) there is that ol' number 1 that comes in front of the other digits for 1970. Anything is worth that amount if you can find someone to pay for it. I have seen (localy) 71 LS5's go for about $30-$35, but without seeing pics of either car, i could not tell you if either are worth the money.

Believe I've seen this car advertised recently....if it's as good as advertised with docs and #'s I think upper 30's would be a good deal and might consider a bit higher. Popular color and a car /yr. I think will appreciate very well.
As far as the Placer Gold convertible, it may not be the same car I've seen on the internet (FL dealer or owner?) but that car was listed pretty high and has sat for quite awhile at that price. Did it truly sell at that level? Placer Gold is probably a little tougher sell.
Only one opinion.....good luck.

Yes the placer gold car was in Florida it was on ebay a year ago I have the details on it. 20 bids were placed and top bid was $49,600.It was placer gold with tan interior and quite highly optioned, matching numbers, docs,AC, automatic,42K miles and apparently restored. The seller was New Century Autos in Orlando. The black car I saw was less optioned but price was well over $50K.
