Dude,
How big are you? I'm 6'1 235lbs and have all kinds of room in my 66SS.

I got a nice 60/40 seat from a newer Gran Prix 2 door nice seat paid 25 from local yard, they also had the same seat in another GP which was power I would look into newer cars they have some nice seats.

Hey Chris,
Why can't you just relocate it? I cut 4 peices 12" long of aluminum (1/4" X 1"). Mount all of the bars to the seat using nuts and bolts (no exact just ones to fit). Position the seat along side the factory holes in the floor, and determine where you want the seat to be mounted. Mark and drill holes in the aluminum. Reinstall with facotry bolts. Hope this helps,

Chris

I disagree - The aluminum might solve your seat fit problem but would not be strong enough to protect in a (bad) accident.

I think you need to do something else like finding a late model junkyard seat that fits if you are on a low budget or checking out these if you got the bucks

Put 91 Cad Eldo seats in my 66 Elky. 6-Way power.

If you look at them long enough you can convince yourself that they look like original style bucket seats, with headrests, and wrong upholstery.

Also went with Caddy console, as it is getting a 700R4. All cable shift linkage.

Havn't sold my Wife's old 91 Eldo, that we replaced 1 1/2 years ago, until I am satisfied with install, just to make sure the ultimate fit is what I want, and matches that car. Very comfortable.

88-91, Eldorado, Riviera, and Toronado all use the same power track set up. Very available in our area.

Can't use the recline in Elky, but it will allow endless position options. Some have power recline, some manual. If you want something really sporty looking, the Trofeo (toronado) seats are leather, with lots of contours.

The track mounts on the Eldos, Toros, & Rivs are 1" narrower than the GM full size FWD of same vintage. Fits very well in car. Used one original location and fabricated mounts for other three on each seat.

Using three point belts out of late 80s. early 90s S10 Blazer 4 door. Once again, fits almost perfect. Had to fabricate both upper & lower belt mounts. Inner belt is out of late 70s full size chev.

Fun mix of parts, but it looks fairly stock, in my opinion. Power seat control will mount on each side of center console. Console has to be cut down to fit contour of driveshaft hump. It is plastic, covered with carpet, not too tough.

When I have too much $$$ seats will be recovered to look like orig. buckets.

This is probably more info. than you ever wanted, but I really have had fun figuring out this set up.
