The General must have used a water based seam sealer. There was surface rust under the areas where the seam sealer was! I dug it all out and did the POR 15 treatment on the rear pinch weld.
Do you POR 15 first then seam sealer, or seam seal the bare metal, or primered metal then POR 15? I'm getting confused as to which goes on first.
As it turns out I put two coats of POR 15 (after Marine clean and Metal Ready) then Ti-coat primer. Can I seam seal now, then paint?

I don't think it matters which one you do first. I use whichever one I have in use although I prefer the seam sealer first as it is thicker and won't run all the way through the work I am doing.

The Por 15 should always go next to bare metal.

I used the Por 15 first. That way you have the entire piece protected. It also says on the 3-M seam sealer that it can be applied to bare metal, but recomends that whenever possible the metal should be painted first

Does the seam sealer stick to the POR 15?
Havent tried it so I dont know?
Has any one?
They say "NOTHING STICKS TO POR 15"?
I would do a test first before I cauked the area.

Doug-- You might try getting in touch with Restomotive's website. It has a lot of good info on it & you can contact them with specific questions. Or, I've had really good response from a POR15 distributor in my area that ships the product anywhere as quickly as you need it & will answer questions regarding the products. POR15 has a thicker product that squeezes out of a tube which I have used for seam sealer & bonds to the other painted POR15 product. If the regular POR15 has pretty well dried & hardened, you may have to rough it up pretty good to get even the POR15 tube product to bond/adhere well. The dealer is Permanent Restoration Products in Valparaiso, Indiana Toll-free Ph. (877)548-9323, website: " www.porstore.com (http://www.porstore.com) ". Good Luck...Odie.
