How does this sound this will be my first time painting anything and this is just the primer etc.

I'm sanding the car down to bare metal and scuffing the metal up (better adhesion) and then apply Omni MP170 epoxy primer (he assured me it didn’t need to be etched the directions say it can be sprayed on sanded steel too) after I spray that im going to apply the Omni SV High build 2k Primer MP282. I believe it says 2-3 coats. After this I picked up sand paper 80 (for before epoxy) and 180, 320, 400 wet /drys.

Does it sound like im on the right track? IM not going for a show quality paint job I want a very nice driver and im hoping I can achieve this with my picks. Did I make good buys?? Any suggestions?

Thanks always,
Tom

The Omni MP282 primer surfacer works just fine, fills nice, sands nice, and no shrinkage problems from what I've seen. It does lock up really fast so don't leave it sitting in your gun for very long. It would be good to have a gun with a large fluid tip for spraying this primer as it is very thick. Bob

The car has old primer on it now that will all be taken off and then epoxy put right back over it in the same day. I should be allright?
