I am looking at a deck lid/trunk lid off a 1971 monte carlo, i was told it is the same thing for a 1970 chevelle could anyone confirm if this is true or not?

I'm almost postive that the trunk lids from 70-72 Monte's will fit Chevelle's from 68-72.

yep. I think all 68-72 a-bodies/elcaminos and 70-72 monte use the same lid. Except the monte lid has no holes for a badge (which is a good thing, you can drill your holes to match your car's badging)

lol, I just realized I stuck the elcamino in with the bunch. i was about to put a /GMCsprint too, hahaha and I'm only 18 so I can't blame it on old age. :D

The 71 and 72 Monte trunk lid will have an emblem around the keyhole like this:

otherwise, the lid is the same. The 70 Monte lid has no emblems of any kind. As an extra note, some Buicks used the same trunk lid too.

I believe Buick Skylark / GS trunk lids are the same as Chevelle also.

It's a temp thing while i prime the original...but I may keep it 'cuz I am not putting the emblems back on.

great pictures, now as long as the under side of the trunk lid i found is good (waiting on picture) then i will have one for 10 dollars :D
