can you get in there with a drill and easy out??? Or just drill out the entire thing and re-tap the mounting nut?

Mike, Those old rusty body bolts are a PITA, soak the heck out of them with liquid wrench and hope they rattle out with an impact wrench. It's a crapshoot, some will some won't. Good Luck!!
Sorry no magic bullets for that one.

There is some stuff called PB Blaster that is waaaaaay better than liquid wrench. I can't say if it will work for you in this case but it will work better than Liquid Wrench or penetrating oil. Walmart sell it, as do some auto parts places..........Ward

Mike,I just busted one of mine off to.Im just happy it was only one.I tried the pb blaster someone else mentioned but it didnt get up where the bolt threads threw the nut.im not sure you can get to that part.try everything you can to get to that area.i used 3/4 drive ratchet and a inpact wrench.and a short prayer.now Im going the easy out route.hope it comes out without a hassel...Ed

I bought a 70 Chevelle that was the start of someone elses frame off project. It had 4 of the bolts twisted off in the body. When i bought the car I thought no biggie, WAS I WRONG!! After trying to get them loose The nuts on the inside started to turn, at this point I knew I was screwed. I ended up taking a torch and blowing a hole just the size of the bolt and nut in the bottom where the bolt was sticking down then I could get all the old parts out. I then took and made 2" X 4" plates out of 1/4" steel and welded a nut to the backside of them then I welded it to the floor of the car and the nut sat up inside the hole I had made to get the old nut/bolt out. So far it is holding good and I know it is not resto perfect but short of replacing all the floor pans this was an easy fix and you cant tell it from outside the car anyway. Email me if you need anymore info on it. chevelless502@yahoo.com

Drill small hole above each of the bolts. It'll take some referencing and measuring. Douse the top of the bolt with a good penetrant, I used Aerokroil over a months time, every couple days.
