I have a 70 chevelle with 41,000 miles and I only get 10 mpg. I is all stock except for dynomax headers and a flowmaster dual exhaust, and a k and n air filter What can I do to improve this.

What engine do you have? What is the gear ratio of the rearend? Do you have a 2 or 4 barrel? Is your driving city or highway? There are several variables that affect this.

My 66 SS with 396 four speed got 12 to 13 MPG from the factory. Would run just fine cold with the choke unhooked. Pretty darn rich. Your car should do much better unless it is a 454 or something. tom

Check choke operation. Should be wide open when engine is hot. Check vacuum advance and timing. Should have double this mileage. tom
