I'm in the process of building a '72 chevelle and am coming close to the bodywork section of the project. I want to have a nice clean underbody and frame. The car is going to be driven and so will see flying stones and such so I was wondering which is better as far as durability goes, paint or powdercoating?

For the underside of your car, I don't think powdercoating is an option because the whole body shell would have to be put into an oven for baking. The heat is what cures the powdercoating powder. Frames & smaller parts are OK, I did my '71 Pro Touring Chevelle frame and it came out awesome!

Thanks, I know the process for powdercoating, I just didn't word my question as clearly as I should have. What would you suggest I use on the underside of the body? I bought some POR-15 in the grey color and was planning to use it on the firewall, inner fenderwells, and the underbody. I thought it would be a good contrast for a car with black paint and silver/grey stripes and a black frame.
