I'm sprucing up the rear of my EC. I bought two new rear emergency brake cables. I'm too cheap to buy the stainless ones.
Can I paint these outer sheaths? I'm sure they will rust the way they are. Would POR-15 be too much?
Thanks,
John

We first painted the area at the windshield with POR-15 Silver (We removed and installed a metal dash from a donor car), then super cleaned and painted the floorboards, all by brush (Marine Clean and Metal Ready First).
Then we decided to POR-15 the underside of the metal dash (Before final installation), and sandblasted and used POR-15 Silver on the firewall (Now installing the Stainless Steel Firewall in four sections).
It sprays "Beautiful", just follow all of their instructions and make sure you have plenty of "Ventilation and a Mask".
Actually, the spray job with the POR-15 Silver looked very "Professional".
Should work great on you cables.
Hope this helps.
