The rear bumper on my 67 has the license plate holder riveted in place on the bumper. My replated bumper doesn't have this mounted.Where can I get the rivets and how do I put them in?Any tips are appreciated.

There was a thread the other day about original rivets which attach the grill to the bracing on the front of a '67. Someone gave a link to lutty's chevrolet ( www.luttyschevy.com (http://www.luttyschevy.com) ). They have some bolts which look like a rivet from the top but screw in from the back... might be just the ticket, post back if they have what you need, I'll probably want to replace mine someday too.

I dont think Luttys has those rivets for license plate bracket. Those are much bigger.I am in the same boat on my 66 rear bumper. I was going to cut bracket off blast and paint, then use short stainless bolts. It stays hidden under flapper license plate holder.

Also from that other thread, according to Old Longboarder...

When I sent the 67's bumpers out to get plated I drilled out those old rivets sent that piece along with the bumper brackets out to get powder coated then reattached it with very nice chrome button head bolts, looks better than new plus its easily removable if ever need be!
