hello everyone...

I am a real newbie about carburated V8s.

I want to learn whats all that of 4 bolt, timing, cc flowing heads, solid or hydraulic rollers, etc...

as pointed by some member, i cant remember, i am going to order these books:

How To Hot Rod big-block Chevys
How To Build Max Performance Chevy Rat Motors
How To Build Monster Chevy Blocks

would this books cover the BASICS or they are more Performance oriented?

Thanks for anyhelp

If you already know about motors, names of parts, what each individual part's relation is to the others, what they do and how they do it, know what the difference between dynamic compression and static compression is, etc., then those books are just the ticket.
If you don't know anything about motors and just starting out, then I'd suggest getting some type of intro/beginner's book and get acquainted(sp?) with all the parts and their functions.
As for which exact book(s) to get, I'd say look for David Vizard, Ed Staffel, and John Baechtel. I'm sure there are other great authors/gurus out there that someone else can chime in on. Good luck with your project and have fun!!! :D graemlins/thumbsup.gif
