: The best service manual....

Hello, first post.

I did a few quick searches and didnt see a rec. for a good service manual. I know there is the Haynes but my experience with BMWs has been that the Haynes is hit-and-miss at best.

Specifically I am looking for a service manual for a 1965 Malibu Vert with A/C. The primary reason I am asking is because I am going to redo all the electrical in the engine bay so I am looking for a manual that goes in-depth.

Sorry if I am asking something that has been asked before, if so just point me in the right direction.

The genuine GM manuals (and their reproductions) are the best. There is a Service manual, which handles the routine things. The Overhaul manual goes into rebuilding a transmission and so on. The Fisher Body manual will cover all the body stuff like windows and folding tops. And there is the Assembly manual (never originally offered by GM) which shows how all the parts of the car are put together in the plant. I suggest getting the Service manual and the Assembly manual first. They are available at the resto parts shops and cost about $25 each. I like the used original manuals more than the repro stuff because the photos are clearer.
