Yesterday (4/7/02) I was involved in a minor accident (No one was hurt, it was a no-fault accident) and the front of my daily driver is torn up. I was wondering if it's hard to fix the damage on it. I posted quite a few pictures on my website. Here's all the pictures I've taken (http://72chevelle.8m.com/truck)
There's no sheetmetal damage, but the front bumper and bumper brackets are toast. Would it be ok if I just put another bumper and brackets on it, or should I just take it to a collision shop? Thanks in advance for answering an offtopic question

That looks like something you can repair yourself. it's not too bad. I would buy brackets, bumper, headlamp assembly and possibly a hood (unless you can fix it) it will save you a boatload of cash..... Looking at that, you can expect 800 bucks or more at a collision shop. DIY and you'll get it for a few hundred or less... Good Luck... Glad everyone is OK.

I'd go for it. You'll save a bundle.
Are the fenders or hood pushed back? Ripples in them?

Luckily, the fenders and hood came out OK. All that was damaged was the bumper, the brackets, and the core support needs to be hit with a hammer a few times to straighten out the hood latch (it still latches though)

I can't find a bumper from the boneyard, so I'll probably end up going through the local Mazda dealership, and it's going to run $350 roughly for the bare minimum of parts. I'm going to hold off on it a few days and see if I can find the parts somewhere. Thanks for your opinions, I was kind of leaning towards doing it myself too, but I wasn't sure.

Did you try www.brandywineparts.com (http://www.brandywineparts.com) they have a pretty wide network of parts places.
