What is this called? Where can I find one for an automatic console shift car? It attaches to the stearing column and bolts to the firewall. http://www.msnusers.com/j6pr99vkaelbchem743qu38be4/Documents/parts/DCP_0027.JPG

Looks like the picture is hosted at a MSN site by the URL and MS .NET Passport is required.

Wow the .NET Dialog is still popping up although it's only a picture. How does that work? Is that one of those hazardous JPG's?

Works for me but I can't place the part name.

My factory assembly manual calls it a Cover Assembly. Is it two pieces? It shows it as outer which goes on the left of the steering column and an inner which goes on the right side of the column. This is out of a 1970 assembly manual, so it looks a little different than yours. Do you know what year it is out of?

On another page it calls it a inner & outer dash cover.

It doesn't look like it's readily available anywhere. You may have to find it in a yard. Maybe post in the parts wanted section.

68 is different
the steering column was not as wide around (smaller diameter)

Also, I believe that 4-speed cars have a 2-inch hole with a rubber boot for the clutch pedal rod.

rainer is right they do but 88502 is looking for one that fits a chevelle with auto (I think)
floor shift and column shift use the one without the hole
