Does anyone know of a relatively easy way to shine up the chrome molding that is at the base of the winshield on a 70. The wipers sit on it when at rest. Sorry I don't know what it is called. Mine has scratches from the wipers and 31 years of age. Thanks.

The only sure way Michael is to remove it and go through the "buffing" process with a bench grinder using buffing compounds and buffing wheels. I believe that piece is stainless steel and it can come out looking like a mirror.
Can't think of anything to apply to it while still on car to remove the scratches, the heat of the grinder and compound will do the trick.
Good luck.

It is Stainless.. and yes it can be buffed.. About 6-8 screws to remove. I would highly recommend inserting a screwdriver into each screw and tap a few times GENTLY with a hammer to loosen the screws so you don't strip them. Also I don't believe you can purchase a new replacement for this peice so be really careful when buffing because it could be a very hard part to replace. I would recommend having a PRO polish this part just in case....

I was thinking the same. I will pull it and let the pros polish it. Thanks all...
