I don't know who to ask about this, and this forum is the most reliable source of info that I have so I hope you can help. I want to get one of the "old-time" wolf whistles. Not one of those junky electrical ones (I had one and hated it), but one of those kind that run off of vacuum from the intake manifold. I have found some used ones on ebaymotors, but am unsure as to whether or not I should get one.
Is there anything that could go wrong with one of these pieces to make it not function correctly?
Thx for any help that you might be able to offer!

I think Moon Eyes carries the original style ones.

I have one on my old truck. The only thing I found was every once in a while I would have to spray some lube(WD40)into the cone. This would free up a cylinder type valve with holes in it that spins and causes whistle. I've seen them at sway meets from time to time.I beleive that someone is reproduceing them.Maybe try a site that deals with 50's customs.Kustom Kemps of America is a world wide club.Might find it there. Thanks for the replies!
I have had no problem finding new ones, but I can get used ones cheaper. Other than the valve sticking like J_Fairchild experiencing (which doesn't seem like a big deal), is there anything I should else I should look out for when getting a used one? Or would it be worth the money to get a new one? Thx!
