I want to thank everybody that posted info and the emails i recieved.They really helped me clarify what i thought the car is kinda rare and worthy of a restoration and take it to the Nationals.Thanks again.


i have a 1970 ss 396 el camino the trim tag paint code has (2) dashes no number and build sheet states color is zp3 spec paint.Painted daytona yellow.Car needs a lot of work on body is this rare and worthy of restoration or just drive.Thanks.Bob

I'm not a 70 expert but that sounds like an interesting 70. If you have the build sheet then it should also show Z25, which documents your truck as a real SS396. That alone makes the truck worthy of restoration. The special paint makes it even more...special! Good luck with your truck.

you can try posting this in the decode or resto forums. There is a lot of very helpful guys over there. Rich might know.
