I've stripped my dash of a really poor paint job and see that removing the windshield may make cleaning it up and painting a lot easier. I also have a leak from the top of the windshield somewhere too, so this helps justify removing and replacing the windshield.
Two questions:
I've seen a product called 3M Windo-Weld Ribbon Sealer for "gasketless" cars. Is this what I would use for a new seal when I put the windshield back in?
The chrome trim around the windshield seems to have been held on with black gook and not clips. Most of the clips are broken and they run in the same direction as the strip. I don't see how these hold the strips in. Since I'll probably need to buy new clips, what kind do I look for?
