How does this swap sound to you guys. I've got a 65 chevelle with 283 ps and air. Am I correct that I could keep using the same tranny (PG)?

The 'glide will bolt right up and require no modifications. Your accessories will too.

wow, that is REALLY great news. I didn't want to have do remove AC after it cost $800 to get it working again.

Would there be anything that would need to get modded or replaced? Is there a fair amount of performance parts out there for em?

I 'think' the 350HO comes with a water pump? If so you may need to swap for a '65 version (length may be different)

Are the heads drilled to accept the older brackets like the one for the alternator?

I made the swap last year to a 350 HO and it is great. You can keep the glide, but a switch to a more modern tranny would give you better mileage and performance. The brackets will bolt up to the heads, the only issues might be the brakes or the cooling system, but if you've upgraded, it should also be no problem. Get ready for some great launches!
