Here's a couple of shots of my car. Got to put the SS emblem on the back, and the center hubs back on the wheels- - -oh and of course the entire interior.

Picking it up tomorrow- - -

What all did you have done your 68? Ive in the middle of tearing mine apart. I was wondering if you replaced any of the quarter panels on the car. Your car looks awsome and Im hoping one day mine will look that way. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Color is dark cherry. It's a GM paint code.

I had both front fenders, both rear quarters, and both floor pans replaced. They pulled both doors off and repaired bad places. Had the clips for trim along bottom removed (just never put it on the new quarters and fenders). Spatter painted the trunk, and undercoated the new pans.

They did a pretty good job. Was supposed to pick up this past Saturday, but there were a couple things I wanted addressed first.

I hope I can keep it looking pretty much like this. Will probably put the wheel well trim on at some point.

Thanks for the positive feedback.

Sweet car.... whats under the hood?

I see you have the same prob I do when taking pics... lots of shadows make it hard to see the color as it would be in person. Very unique for sure!

Was a Malibu in a previous life. Came from GM with a 327- - a father/son team had started it when the Dad had to move to Florida. They have a "built" 350 put in it. Only thing I know for sure is it has been bored .040, has a Holley 650 (I added), Holley intake, mild cam, headers, flowmaster exhausts that come out behind the rear wheels. Turbo 350 transmission (recently converted to floor shift), and 10 bolt rear, but no idea the ratio.

It sounds good, runs good, and if I can stop the valve cover gasket leaks, I'll be a lot happier.

[/QB]I should add that it does look different in shadows. Dim light or shadows, it looks black. When the sun hits it directly, it's a very dark burgundy/plum looking color. Reflections of the sky, buildings, etc. are picked up and that's some of what you see in the pics.

Man o' man does that look purdy. I love the look of a dark color 68 Chevelle, the way the light hits it it almost looks like a dark royal purple. You got her looking nice. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

You got her looking nice. graemlins/thumbsup.gif Thanks; been working on the inside last 2 weeks. Have both interior quarters, and passenger door panel in. Console shifter all wired up and mounted. Hope to get it on the road by New Years. Wife's getting me a Kenwood Ez-500 am/fm/cd player for Christmas. My dash was already cut up, and this is the most "retro" look player I've seen.

I think it's a head turner too. It's our ice cream getter come Spring.
