i guess im a retard, i just swapped out my tranny for another M20, now i can't get my driveshaft in. it goes about2 inches if i REALLY push and turn and push and turn (just going milimeter by milimeter)... are the new seals that tight???? i haven't added any fluid yet.

You may want to post this in the Transmissions group. Wally can probably help you there.

Did you grease it before installing?

Is there a seal on the output shaft? Maybe your using a non vented Yoke and its packed full of lube creating an air pocket. ?????

well, more news, i tried a new yolk just to see if it would work, and no go. i guess there is some bushing that may have been installed crooked??? or maybe just got the edges boogered up... not sure, now i have to pull it back out, and take it for a 2 hour tour to the guys house to fix it..... graemlins/angry.gif i don't mind if you screw up, just make it right and make it worth my time... this sucks

that yoke should have slipped right in there, don't let the tranny guy blame you for his mistakes, he should have checked the fit and alignment before it left his shop. The guy that worked on mine requested the yoke for a testfit before it left his place. Don't let this fall in your lap, at least straighten the guy out before you walk out or someone else will get burned just like you.

well, i think he's a good guy so far, he's offered to fix it, and admitted that he's had a couple that this has happened to. so i'll see tomorrow if he's good for his word, i think he is though. hopefully all will be good tomorrow

Sometimes you just have to talk dirty to her, that usally loosens' it up

well, all is good (after i drove for 2.5hrs RT to get it to him) turns out the tool he used to install the rear bushing somehow damaged it... he installed a new one and we're good, i also got to see the gears inside (they looked new!) and how it all goes together :D
