npminard Jul 18th, 03, 3:03 PM i have a fiberglass domed ss hood and the hinges didnt come w/springs when i purchased it. i realized because the tension would be too much for the fiberglass hood. can i get a spring w/less tension or what are other alternatives to getting my hood to stay open w/o wrecking the fiberglass hood? do they make metal domed ss hoods? thanks in advance nathaniel Dale Eikmeier Jul 18th, 03, 4:20 PM :confused: How do you know the tension is too much? Instructions, lititure that came with the hood? If standard springs were to tight, would not the lititure say so and recommend a type of springs? Is the hood reinforced on the edges? npminard Jul 18th, 03, 4:56 PM no reinforcements on the sides. i dont have any literature or instructions because i bought the car that way. when i said purchased, i didnt clarify i meant purchased the car. thats also why the previous owner didnt have springs on it, tried it, but too much tension. anyone know of a place where i can get a lighter tension spring or possibly just have a shop reinforce it?
