So my buddy is installing my new door panels from Ausley's,and he says they fit like **** .It took quite a bit of work to get them to fit, same as the wheel well moulding, also from Ausleys. The moulding has a tag on it saying made in tawaiin  ,or some jap country.I hope the new rear bumper fits good, because that's where I bought it from also.Is all of Ausley's stuff like this? graemlins/sad.gif

Sorry off topic but cecil thats a nice looking boxer you have and I like the looks of those wheels on your ride. Are they just an american eagle truck style wheel? graemlins/beers.gif

I beleive Adam was refering to the fact that the panel was made in some South Pacific country. I understand his frustration, it seems that alot of reproduction stuff is going overseas and qaulity control is not that good. I'd gladly pay double for the part to see it built exactly like factory. I work in the auto industry and install parts all day. Factory parts without exception always fit better than the best aftermarket part. If you are paying less for the part, there might be a reason.

Door panels should fit, bought mine from OPG and they were fine. Wheel well mouldings are another animal. Bought mine in 1985 from GM (Original NOS) and had a real fight to get them on, none of the original holes lined up, and I had to force them into place.

Happy all the time, loves to run and play, and when he's tired, he can sleep like any dog you've ever seen!

American Racing Baja wheels, look good and not expensive. The tires are P255/60R15 all the way around, a tad too wide for the front, as they rub the inner fender sometimes.

Thanks!

Do you have the front end lowered at all? I would like to put something that size on mine at stock height. Currently there are a set of 205's are it and they look stupid. I always had boxers growing up. They are a good dog, they just leak around the mouth at times! graemlins/beers.gif

I need to get the plans for the drool cup that Dan Akroyd wore on SNL a long time ago for Sprocket, he's a bit sloppy sometimes!

Front end is not lowered, other than it has a 454 on 33 year old 350 front springs. I have new coils for the back, and maybe next Christmas I'll get new ones for the front and raise it up a tad...

Adam: I'd be cautious about using what could easily be construed as a racial slur. Did you call Ausley's and ask them about the quality or the chance of getting a refund or exchange? The Japanese (or Republic of China [Taiwan]) probably made 90% of your household appliances and 99% of your home entertainment system - along with your computer and accessories.

And I'd suspect they got their directions and dimensions from someone here, unless they were shipped various cars to take apart and measure up...

Dale, I refer to South Pacific because it pertains to all the small countries to our east manufactering parts to include but not limited to Asia. You might be suprised to find how many small and sometimes unheard of islands the US does business with.

Geez people,it was just a figure of speech.I know it came from tawaiin, because of the little tag on it.I didn't call Ausley's,because I didn't buy the panels. They came with the car when I bought it,I just bought the moulding, and the bumper. They did eventually fit, just took some coaxing.
Dennis68 was right,I was venting, you'd think that a company like Ausleys, that specializes in chevelle parts would have properly fitting parts.Just my personal opinion ;)

Adam,

I understand the reason why you want to vent, but as Dale has already said, Did you call Ausley's? If you don't give them feedback they will never have any reason to change. You don't need to call them and call them every name in the book, just explain the problems that you had with them.

This goes for any company that you deal with. If you get a bad part and you don't let them know they will never have a reason to correct it. I work in Engineering for a consumer product company and you wouldn't believe the time and effort that we put into returns anaylsis and solving problems that customers point out to us.

Good Luck.

You shouldn't have to call them and tell them anything. If they cared about their product they would know the quality.
