Did any year chevelles come from the factory with hood pins installed?

I believe the factory started putting stuff like this on their cars because there was a big market for cool stuff like this and they wanted to offer it from the factory. Hood pins were very comon as an aftermarket gizmo. Almost everyone had them. I was debating putting them on my 69, but decided I didn't want to explain that my car is a reproduction of what John Q public did back in the late 60's early 70's to their brand new car.
Some of the other mods they did were:

Shorty exhaust w/Cherry Bombs/Thrush mufflers.
Pulled off the front bumper. ( lighter )
Shimmed up the rear of the hood ( ran cooler/inducted air )
Replaced the shift knob with a T-handle.
Flipped the air cleaner top over.
Jacked up the back of the car.
Swapped the factory steel wheels for mags or
put baby moons on.
Replaced the rear end cover with a chrome one.
Remove the grille.
Put a Sun Tach on the dash or steering colum.

I'm sure there are more, but I can't remember them right now.

hehe, thats when cars were cars and looked cool, but most of that stuff actually did somthing, not like the big wings and ground fx's on these new imports.

not to rob the pst, but.. how would you go about mounting the pins on a hood that didnt originally have them? i have a set and would like to put them on.

Just for the sake of discussion, but what practical purpose the hood pins serve on 70-72 Chevelles if not for 'looks'? Did pinned hoods not have a latch?

I'm sure many of today's imports with wings and ground effects are primarily for looks, but they can be functional...unlike hood pins and stripes.

Don't the hood pins help keep the hood from losing shape and holding down the corners of the hood at high speed, especially when using a fiberglass piece?
