I have a 396 that needs a rebuild. Has anyone had some work done in the milwaukee or janesville area? Looking for a quality street machine type rebuild. Also - any thoughts on roller valve train? THANKS!

I run rollers on the street and love them. A little pricey but worth it in my opinion. No cam break in.

I ran a 396 bored 60 over 375hp 10:50cr with a Crane roller(595I 615E). It was a stock L78 with a little less cr and a roller. I pulled the motor and I am installing a complete stock bore LS6 with 10:50cr with a Crane roller(same cam specs.). It will look exactly like the L78(069 manifold,etc.). I like the all original look. The car had 26K Original miles with a NOM correct date coded motor. Car has 4:10 gears.

70, I know a guy in Janesville that can put you in touch with someone for your motor.
His name is Joe, he owns the Zeibart on Milton Ave.
He has a killer 69 Chevelle to boot.

Good luck

there is a place in burlington, powerbuilt performace engines 262-767-8711,732 s. pine street. i have picked up fliers from them from various shows and swap meets {vetfest} most recently. i have not tried their servicies yet. i believe they do all their work in house. i'am not sure about prices? am going to check them out this spring. i need new rings or valve job?

Had my 283 completely rebuilt at the Parts Hut in Waukesha. Call and see if Jim is still there.
Came highly recommended and I was really happy with the end result. Bill was around $1300.
Good luck!
