I am looking for some general information. I have a set of four 1969 date coded "AO" stamped SS wheels which are approximately 10" wide rim lip to rim lip versus the standard 8" wide rims. There are no signs of mods (i.e reweld or inserts) of any kind. They appear professionally/factory made. Was this an optionally available wheel? Any info is appreciated. (I have listed this under "Wheels" too, not knowing which area is best to get a response)
Thanks,
Sam

AO wheels are for 70 Chevelles. YA are for 69 Chevelles. There were no 10" or 8" factory SS wheels. All original 69-70 SS Wheels were 14x7. Wheel Vintiques produces an SS reproduction in a 14x7 through 15x10 in a number of sizes.

I had a 69 SS about 10 years ago that had SS wheels that were 10" lip to lip. I never checked the numbers or letters on it. Somebody somewhere made those things. They were for real. Worked very well on the back of the SS I had.

Sorry for delay guys I was not able to get to internet. I goofed my original codes. Pls see correction below.
All four are shod with tires presently so only outside codes are visible. All are "YA" coded with an "MI" to the left of the valve stem and a side ways 2 between the MI and the valve stem. To the right of the valve stem is the number 26 and the YA to the right of the 26. All four are the same. All rims are 14". They most likely are some sort of repro as each of the stamps is nearly identical. As I remember there should be a number (designating the year) below the wheel manufacturer (MI). One of the wheels has a partial loop like the top of an 8 or 9 below the MI.
Thanks for your input - sorry for my inaccuracies,
Sam
