I'm trying to break loose the body bolts right now, and I'm a little lost...
The first one I tried was the passenger side front-most. After about five turns it snapped off (completely rusted). How can I get the others out with out ruining the nut part? If the nut breaks off inside the body, how is this typically repaired? Thanks!

Before you break anymore, Get some PB blaster or Kroil. Soak the bolts with it every few hours. Do this for a few days. Also some heat from a torch will help. A little patience goes a long way, because drilling out and retapping broken bolts is very tedious and time consuming. Some body mounts use cage nuts. Some can only be accessed by cutting open the top side of the floor.

At least the 1 that I did break was an easily accessible one--I'll get some Kroil and start soaking, thanks for the help.

In the same boat. Have not heard of Kroil or PB Blaster before. Are they available in a typical auto store?

PB blaster is the best stuff ever. Available at any parts store. The worse the stuff smells, the better it works. I'd spray it 2 times daily for a week. It worked more than once for me.

Patience is also very important. As you start to loosen it and the bolt starts to move, go back and forth and "work" it in & out until it comes out. Using an impact gun is risky, expecially if the bolt is rusted through, so once it is moving, do it by ratchet, that will give you some feedback and hopefully it won't break. Juice the bolts and heat as nescessary per the previous posts.
Good Luck

I guess i got lucky, only snapped one.The others i got out with a ratchet/extention and alot of funny faces and some grunts.
Soak them down good and be ready to have the nut in the body start spinning.
If you keep turning and you think ,(man this bolt is long) then the cage nut in the body has probly started spinning.
At that point the only thing to do is go above the cage/nut and drill down into it then jam/wedge something in the hole to hold the nut,or if that doesnt work your going to have to cut a flap in the metal and get in there to either fix the cage or weld the nut in.

Thanks for all the input. Fortunately I'll only struggle with this once because the next bolts will be galvanized/zinc coated. Also, I just bought a new polyurethane body bushing kit from Energy Suspension. The more money I spend on this project, the more I get into it!
