I bought a 1967 Chevelle SS 13817 car with a 427 emblems all around wich seems to have factory part number behind them. The motor is long gone. The only document I have is a built sheet with little square holes and some numbers that follows.

SEQ JOB C OPTIONS STYLE TR/ST
005890 175 1 1 2 A R 4 5 13817 778 B

does the square puch holes mean anything or can they be decoded,I can email a picture of my builtsheet to anybody that can help me.thanks Robert.

The piece of paper you have should be trim options, as far as the 427 emblems, there were never any factory Chevelles produced with a 427!
1=Chevrolet
38=SS396
17=2 door sport coupe
You should post this in the Tag Team section which is specificly for decoding numbers!

Congratulations on buying a project car, have some fun fixing it up the way you like. The card you found is an early computer punch card, a vintage computer buff may be able to tell you any further meaning beyond what is typed on the card. Yes, the emblems have part numbers - they were factory parts off a 427 Impala.

To add to what Rocky said: for sure there were no official factory 427 Chevelles in '66 or '67. '69 had some COPO cars, '68 I don't remember. Quite a number of 427 SS Chevelles were born out of the money and imagination of owners and enterprising dealers - some of the dealers like Dana and Nickey and Yenko and Baldwin-Motion received a good measure of fame in their time. Many long years ago I was a parrts man at a very busy Chevy dealer and helped to "create/convert" more than a few ordinary Malibus into big block SS cars - didn't think anything about cloning or numbers matching.

Is it an old punch card like this (http://www.team67.com/67velle/tags/ibm_balt_nickles.jpg) or paper like this? (http://www.team67.com/67velle/tags/bs_larry_buckholtz.jpg). If you could scan the trim sheet and send it to me, I might be able to help with the numbers. It all depends on the position and block of the numbers. Also, if you could send a picture of the trim tag, I'd be happy to post them both on my Team67 site for future reference.

As noted above, there were NO SS427 Chevelles in 1967 - or any year for that matter. While the '427' may indeed have a GM part number (or casting number), it's from another model, you can be sure of that.
