: body bushing nuts and bolts
rchevellea Jun 27th, 04, 1:27 AM I got a problem, I need to replace all my body bushing, bolts, and nuts. The nuts that I am refering to are the ones that are welded into the body. I need new ones cause they are rusted through. My question is where can I find the actual nuts to weld back into the body. All the chevelle parts magazines I have do not have them listed, I kinda need them to mount the body back to the frame. Hope ya'll can help. Thanks

Tomb7us Jun 27th, 04, 1:41 AM are you talking about the cage nuts that hold the square nuts in the supports in which the bolts connect to? they look like this:

To my understanding you have to make theses or buy the braces that have them welded on. Someone correct me if im wrong.
rchevellea Jun 27th, 04, 1:47 AM If the nut goes in the middle of that brace and is welded in, than yes that is what I am talking about, you said I would have to make them, can you buy them anywhere with the nut allready intact.

Tomb7us Jun 27th, 04, 1:50 AM Im not to sure if you can buy them i know they came prewelded on my trunk braces but if they make them seperate i dont know. The one i just made tonight (picture) took about an hour. They attach to the brace and the bolt goes directly through them.
You may be able to get them look on google.

rchevellea Jun 28th, 04, 7:03 PM thanks guys for all the info. one more question, the caged part like the piocture above, does that need to be welded to the body or to the frame? I just need to make sure, I think it is welded to the body. Thanks again everyone.

Tomb7us Jun 28th, 04, 11:38 PM Yep it was originally spot welded to the body!

rchevellea Jun 30th, 04, 3:36 AM Ok maybe I am stupid, but the piece pictured above, does it weld to a "brace of sorts" or what, my understanding is that it is welded into a little "cave" between the body and the frame. Is this true or am I just completely off. If ya'll happen to have any pictures as to where it is wleded on the body that would be extremely helpful. Sorry if I am asking any stupid questions and I am trying to make them as clear as possible. Thanks again for all the information guys.

Tomb7us Jun 30th, 04, 5:15 PM i think there are about 10 of these things welded to the body some are welded to braces that are then welded to the body im not sure what your asking
rchevellea Jul 1st, 04, 3:50 AM Tomb7us, let me try to make my wondering mind make sense to the both of us. The piece pictured above, does it weld to the floor pan on the body, and if so, does it weld straight to the floor pan or is there a "place" kind of a recessed(spelling?) whole for the brace above to go into. I hope I made more sense this time. If not ask me and I will try again. Thanks for all the patience and all the knowledge you are giving me, if I get anything out of this it will be to never buy a car with badly rusted mounting holes. Thanks again.
