Is that HOK True-Blue Pearl?

If so, mine's the same color. If not, nice color anyway. smile.gif It's coming along nicely.

Great looking car Nebula! You guys going to fill another Long Islander in on those cruise nights :D ? Sears was cancelled and last one was at K-Mart on Hempstead Tpke. Can't wait to summer. Supposed to get 6-12" tonight graemlins/angry.gif . It will be August before they come out again. Again, BU-T-FUL and maybe it looks better in person tongue.gif ?

Yeah!! The roads are real icy now.. gonna take at least 2hrs to get home.

1hot67: You are Correct!! HOK trublue pearl with HOK silver/white pearl stripes. Great observation!! Pictures dont do the color justice. What an awesome color. It changes from blue to purpleish to turquoise under different light. I wanted a deep color without resorting to candy which is too hard to touch up as this car gets DRIVEN. Was gonna use the dodge intense blue pearl but I saw this color on a harley when leaving a steak house one night a while back. I went back into the bar and found the biker who owned it to ask what color he used. When you get a chance post a pic of your car.

Dean: I got the new new garage doors to keep the beast safe over the summer. I also found some time to clean out those gutters smile.gif .

Here is my project car. We're going to fire it up tomorrow, as the dash and wiring is now all completed. I take her home this weekend to finish the interior then it's time to enjoy.

what are the specs on your wheel and tire combo?

nebula72
Jan 27th, 04, 9:10 PM
AR Torq thrust IIs
rears 15x10 4.5" backspace with 295 50 r15 BFG
front 15x8 with 265 50 r15. BFG
I wanted to make my velle look like a real life hot weels car!!

The car handles great with the 50s all around and a steering box built by harrys steering gear. Has same ratio as an IROC z. The car feels like a manual box on the highway but has some assist for parking. Not swimmy with too much assist.

nebula,
that's the same tire combo that i've been trying to confrim to work on my 70, expect for on 16's rather than 15s. im nervous about the 265/50R16 fitting on the front. do you have any advice to give me? granted i would have an additional half inch in radius but i would appreciate your oppinion as to weather you think i would have the room or not. I am also planning a b-body spindle swap but would still like to hear you advice on a stock set-up. also are you happy with your stagger from 265 to 295, if you had to do it again would you still go that big in the front?
thanks

Car looks great. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Now I'm wondering if I really want to go with the original orange on my 72. :(

FWIW, I like the original orange! Nebula 72, your car looks awesome! I am struggling with the original color for my 72 as well (yellow). If "Daytona Yellow" was offered on the chevelle in 72 it would not be as hard of a call but I think mine is "cream yellow".

My original color was white. Too boring for me.
The orange does look really cool.
Walrus. The car handles really good with the 265s in the front. I had no issue fitting the fronts at all. I would do it again. But only with the 295s in the rear. I woulddnt do 265 50s all around. It just wouldnt look right. There is sometimes a slight rub on the back quarter with the 295s but i think i can get it fixed by trimming or rolling the lip of the rear quarter. I think just a little trim would fix it as the rub only occurs when the car is full of passengers. The combo looks good im my opinion. from the rear it looks like its tubbed. Ill see if I can find any info regarding 16s. I almost went with 16s but when I was looking the tire sizes for 16s were VERY limited.

thanks for your response nebula, i hear what you are saying about 16in tire sizes being limited, bfg makes a 295 which i want on the back and they make a 265 which i want on the front but i'm nervous about the fit, the next size down they make is 245 which i fear would look too skinny with the 295s out back so if i can't be confident that the 265 fit i think that i will re-evaluate my combo and consider 255s all the way around which makes a big $$$ difference b/c the 295s would require a custom made 16x9.5 TT2 where as the 255's wil fit on a stock 16x8, but i don't mind spending the extra money to get what i want if i know it will work.
