I almost hate to ask this question, in fear of the wrong answer.
I was not as careful as I should have been when I removed the windshield a couple of years ago. I shattered it. Oh well, it was not original anyway. At the time, I checked on the availability of a new one and convinced myself (in part due to a post I read here then, but cannot resurrect)that it would be no problem to find a replacement.
I am now ready for the new one. I called the most reputable local glass shop to order it. They listed 2 types as being available. One for a hardtop & one for a sedan. I was given the opening measurements to check which one would best fit. I would have layed money on the hardtop version, but after checking, I am running a little scared at the moment. The measurements I took imply that neither one will work. Oh boy.
Does anyone know, for fact, if a hardtop windshield will fit a convertible? Please say yes. If so, I was quoted $160.00 installed on site. Fair enough. My life is good again. If the answer is no, where might I find a new one. Originality is not important. I dug up a couple of phone numbers after dredging the archives, "All Classics" & "OEM Glass". Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Phil
