: Removing paint from paint

OUCH!!!!!!This week, while backing out of a friends garage, I managed to leave about a foot of her oyster shell house paint ground into my quarter panel. It was early in the AM and before I had removed my head from my orifice.

The house paint, though very good paint for the trim of houses, does not belong on my midnight blue Chevelle.

So, my question. What will be the best way to remove this ground in paint, but still preserve the finish on my car as much as possible?

Any advice is greatly appreciated and will give me my weekend project. Thanks!

Most times a quality Cleaner/Wax will take it off. If it doesn't go one step further with a Clear Coat safe compound, usually white and not very gritty. Use a soft cloth ( a diaper is great) and go slow. Try to go in a straight line motion, not circles. After all the "extra" paint is gone, wax it up and you're done.
