If it were me, I'd like something with less compression for the street. Over 11:1 would be iffy on 92 octane, especially in a heavy street car.

Id say pass on it, 11-1 is pretty high for pump gas. You may want to consider how big the cam is, sometimes the compression will drop if the cam has enough overlap. That or put a little thicker head gasket on it. that would lower it a bit too

what would be a good conpression to run on a street car? so this engine is no good? well that bites

its not that the engine is "no good" The compression ratio makes it difficult to run on the street. Like i said you could probably make a few small mods to make it streetable. I thicker head gasket would help some. And check to see if the cam has any overlap. If it does it will drop the compression some. Usually 10.5-1 is the highest to run on the street. I know people who have ran 11-1 but you usually need to mix some racing gas or octane boost to keep it from detonating

see thats the only problem, im not really big into engines. so its gonna be a buy what i need kinda deal. so im gonna just pass on it and look for a lower conpression engine and thanks for the input. and if any one knows a good engine builder with responable prices feel free to email me at antlip@comcast.net it doesnt really matter where he is located as long as they will ship it and im sure to post more engines soon thanks for the help

If you're looking a for good, reliable, well performing engine, is hard to beat a GM crate engine. They come with a warranty and you can get a streetable 350HP or more for the money you were looking at on eBay.

I second that; buying a motor off ebay is a bad idea because you're looking to spend another 3-400 to ship the thing. I'd say buy the GM350 HO crate motor.

i agree don`t buy an ebay motor!! another thing it`s missing the top chrome alternater brkt? it has cheap ass chrome dress up kit the oil pan valve cover air cleaner are all cheap chrome plated tin!!! wont last before it starts rusting and chipping!! those cheap chrome oil pans are known to leak!! and they probably wont sell it for less than 4000 if it is realy a 383 with 435! graemlins/sad.gif
