ive been reading some things about the replacement tube that you can get instead of the POA valve. it has a pressure switch on it to make your clutch cycle. Some saythats a good thing other say it isnt. Ive found a place that can refurbish my POA and make it work on R134. Any thoughts on which is best? I posted a similar question in the heating and coolng section with out a lot of results. Thanks!!!

All I can tell you is that my '69 AC is all stock except for the 'barrier' type hoses. I run 134 and it works great. Of course we have little or no humidity and I don't know if that would matter. I do know that I can go across the desert is August and it blows COLD.

I did this a few years back, and it did not work at all with the POA valve. I replaced my origional one, and the new one did not work either.
Had to get an "update" valve to make it cool down.

BTW, do a search in the Heating & Cooling forum & you will get some more info on the POA deal.
